BIOGRAPHIES John H. Reed, Ph. D., is a principal and owner of
Innovologie, LLC., a technologically oriented market and evaluation research
firm located in Rockville, Maryland.
Reed founded Innovologie in 2003. Prior to forming Innovologie, LLC., Reed was a co-founder
and owner of TecMRKT Works. From
1992 - 1995, he served as Evaluation Director for Wisconsin Demand-Side
Demonstrations, Inc. and as a Senior Consultant for HBRS, Inc., Madison,
Wisconsin. Previously, he spent
nearly 12 years as a researcher and group leader at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and seven years as a faculty member at
Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.
He holds a M.A. and a Ph. D. from Cornell University and a B.S. from
Iowa State University. In recent years John has completed more than a dozen studies of
the commercial buildings market.
His study of the commercial buildings market, ÒWho Plays and Who
Decides,Ó is a major piece of work that describes the commercial building
market and eight of its submarkets. He has also completed several recent studies of
multifamily buildings and multifamily projects. John is a leader in studies of the transformation of
energy and energy equipment markets with more than two dozen publications in
the area. He is an expert in
logic modeling performance measurement and has completed a dozen projects in
these areas for utilities, state governments, and the US Department of
Energy. Reed has completed
several market segmentation studies for clients. He has also completed multiple evaluation studies of
daylighting, weatherization programs, residential energy programs and energy
consumption, direct load control, community studies, and green pricing. Reed is a frequent presenter at energy conferences. He is the current President of the
National Capital Region Chapter of the AESP and a member of the national
organization. Jeff Riggert is a research associate at
Innovologie. He is responsible
for proposals, survey development, interview protocols, data collection,
analysis, and report writing. He
also recruits, trains and supervises survey staff and has conducted thousands
of interviews and surveys. He
has experience with commercial buildings, multifamily housing, low-income and
residential populations, and Federal energy programs. He is also the founder and president
of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Association of Energy Service Professionals
(AESP). Prior to joining Innovologie, he was a research assistant at
TecMRKT Works for five years.
Before 1998, he conducted research on energy services for low-income
households (for the Wisconsin Public Utilities Institute) and on transmission
line law and regulation. While
working as a research and program assistant at the Solid and Hazardous Waste
Education Center for the University of Wisconsin Extension (1996-1998), he
gained extensive knowledge and experience in reusable transport packaging,
building and road construction industry waste product markets, and the
pollution prevention in the printing industry. He has extensive experience in evaluating and implementing
energy and environmental projects in a variety of settings. He has an M.S. degree in Land Resources with a Certificate in
Energy Analysis and Policy from the University of Wisconsin and a B. S. in
Biology with Honors from the University of Nebraska. His M. S. Thesis quantified the
embodied and life-cycle energy of wood-framed and straw-bale homes. He is a certified HERS (Home Energy Rating Service) energy rater
and was a US-EPA Green Lights Program surveyor/ally. He was in the vanguard of the environmental movement at the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). From 1990 to 1994, Jeff co-founded and
directed the University of Nebraska Environmental Resource Center
(UNERC). He also initiated,
designed, and implemented the first comprehensive campus-wide recycling
program at UNL and implemented some 30 institutional lighting applications in
numerous buildings as part of the EPA Green Lights Program. During this period of time, he
was a sales representative for a 3M affiliate installing high efficiency
commercial lighting and specular reflectors. Charles Bailey is a Research Associate at Innovologie,
LLC. a technologically oriented market and evaluation firm located in
Rockville, MD. He holds a B.A.
in Economics from Hobart College.
Previously he was a consultant for Analysis Research Planning Corp
(ARPC). At ARPC, he regularly
collected, prepared, and analyzed large amounts of mass tort claim data. Mr. Bailey also performed market
research in several fields including research for a major auto insurance
corporation and the tobacco industry.
His responsibilities at Innovologie include project management, data
collection and statistical analysis. Moria Morrissey, MBA, is a Research Associate at
Innovologie, LLC. Her
responsibilities at Innovologie include project planning, survey development,
interviewing, data collection, and analysis. She recently received her MasterÕs of Business
Administration from Frostburg State University (FSU) with a management
concentration. She also received
her BachelorÕs of Science in Business Administration with a marketing focus
from FSU. Her recent project
experience includes a consulting project for Edgewood Commons Apartments,
which is a public/private partnership between Frostburg State University,
Capstone Management Corporation, and Maryland Economic Development
Corporation (MEDCO). The purpose of this project was to raise the occupancy
rate of the facility through customer satisfaction, retention, and
acquisition. |
